Discussion: Is it KSing?

Thought occured to me and I wanted to gather some community opinions on such a matter.

Obviously the newbie areas are going to be packed when release hits, right? Well, in all the madness some classes might be disadvantaged over others. How so? Well, for example melee classes with no ranged could easily have mobs ganked from them by ranged with instant-cast abilities.

This brings up a unique debate.

What are your takes on this?

Simply put, if its obvious that they're fighting it, and they look like they can take it, its KS. But if they're struggling (or I'm struggling) I think stepping in is more then justified.

But I do remember there being mentioned something that affects whether or not you can actually kill steal. Have to see once its open beta.

Oh no, what I mean is if you are a caster and you see a Rogue or Bard running towards a mob to fight it, if you cast an instant ability to tag that mob, would you consider that KSing?

Morally, to me, yeah. And I wouldn't do it. But, by the game's rules, I doubt it. How would it know?

Well, you can't code in shit like that. What I'm asking is are the actual players for or against that kind of behavior? Me personally? I hate that kinda crap and those people should get a swift quick in the nuts in RL, but eh, can't stop some people from being jerks.

It would certainly require creative coding at the least. Like, if I had the mob targeted, the Mr. Wizard could not nuke it unless he was grouped with me.

However, I agree with you. KSing in any form is just low. Now, it happens accidentally sometimes and I always apologized and offered whatever loot was on the corpse, or something else apropriate.

At the beginning when other people will do it to you, yeah, I will.

I have never had problems with KS'ing, only in crowded areas...but even that if happens I just let you go.

Sometimes people can build bad reps doing it. If you remember them doing at lvl 10 and see them at 50 and they are still doing ti, chances are more people would remember that particular individual.
