I have a question for the Max faction quest line from the Wardship of the Sleeping Moon. This may apply everywhere as well.
I began the wardship quests around level 30. The double experience weekends were very good to me, and by the time it was all said and done I was level 42. As a result, I pretty much flew through the wardship line of quests. The problem is that I got the max faction quest several levels (and days and days of grinding) later. Getting the heroic weapon was easy. The legendary is another story. I have all the necessary tomes, candles, and runes, but cannot for the life of me get any armor drops to get more moats (sp?). I obviously cannot get groups in the warship at my level (48 and counting), so I solo a lot. I killed over 400 bloodhowlers yesterday, and had no armor drops at all. none. I grouped with a level 28 cleric to help him do his bloodhowlers quest, and finally something dropped. The question and moral of this story is... do items (quest in particular) drop less frequently once you are much higher level than a creature? This problem is preventing me from getting my upgrade without taking named camps from characters that are more appropriate level. Thanks. |

You get 5 motes per named kill, and it sounds like armor drops are covered by TLC.
You only have a few options: 1) Steal the name camps until you get the motes 2) Group with lower level players to get armor drops 3) Wait a few weeks until after the legendary items are tweaked down, and rares tweaked up, and see if there isn't something level 50 that's better/equiv by then. That's one of the current problems with Vanguard (which Sigil is adressing). While the level 40 legendary weapon is nice, it's stupid that I'm turning down level 50 blue/rare stuff simply because it's just not as good as the MoP heroic armor and legendary weapons. The other problem is the XP rate. For a lot of quests, the agonizing faction/drop grind required to complete the quest will ensure that you outlevel the reward once it's complete.

The Armor is not on TLC, you are just having some bad luck.
The motes however are on TLC. So killing the named in Vol Tuniel might not do you much good. Only place I seen motes drop from gray mobs was Thullaseen. This information is about a month old. My group did these quests about that long ago. We were 50 at the time. TLC is dumb |

what faction do you need to get the weapon quests? Not dynamic but full faction? As a Vulmane I have been worken my butt off and broke 18k dynamic faction the other day, and still no teir 3 armor or weapon quests.
TLC is not dumb, going level 30-40 quests when your 50? Thats what TLC is there for, to keep those who shoudl move on from robbing content from those of th eproper level range. How ever the XP rate in VG is way way to fast, about half the current rate would be awesome, there is no grind, only a new day of adventuring.

I the final weapon upgrade was more like 18K faction than 12K.
Pretty sure you do NOT get a new quest. I think I remember that all you get is an new catalyst. Look for a new catalyst on the catalyst guy. The best way to get moats is to clean out all the nameds in the back part Thelaseen. With invis and lev and summons you can do them all in about 4 hours easy. |

You do get a new quest, to kill 5 leaders from each dungeon, for the Heroic bow/shield/focus/throwing ammo. The perfect catalyst is used to upgrade it to Legendary, along with the tomes/runes/candles and the 300 motes.

We out leveled the quests before they were put in. So your logic says I should not get the chance to go back and do them? Especially when it is quest based, TLC is a major drawback. If I am willing to spend time doing these quests I should get full support. With the lack of content available since release for them to have TLC enabled really just gives 50s another reason to stop playing. What monk wants to "move on" passing up the only summon shurken item in game? Please.... |

Assuming that you're referring to the motes of ancient power, Avarem updated them to ignore TLC on our side on Tues/yesterday so it should be more manageable next patch for you folks that skipped/out-leveled it.
