4/6 7pm EST
Shidreth had 774 people online. waited a few hours to let the west coasters log in before doing another count. 10:30pm EST Shidreth had 1232 people online. Other than 40-50 the lowest player counts were 1-10. This makes me a sad camper. While I'm really not happy with some of the changes to the game and the direction it's swung to (notice some of my bitching posts heh) I am still enjoying Vanguard and plan to play for years. If Shidreth is generally accepted as one of the busy servers, I really feel for the "not crowded" servers. Waayyyy to much space out there on Telon for 1200 players or less. Hope the guys at Sigil get this shit figured out quick and start getting these populations up. |

It's such a huge world..
Having so many players scatterd around takes a huge dent in community building. Ok here is an exmaple: Warship of the Sleeping moon Vol Thel When I was in my late 20 to mind 30's I "SAW" something special in those zones. People were talking, lots of pugs...lots of things to do with armor quests faction grinding getting armor drops named 2 dungeons I SAW A COMMNUNITY start to build there, it was amazing, I felt an old school vibe. It FELT like it had LIFE! Then after that is was running circles exping race to 50 where the only darn zone worthy of doing in Rhaz Inkur.... YEs people qq'ing over content and quests, fine! Give us it....but really we feel alone once we get it because there is nobody to share it with. Right now, I'm more worried about the community than content. ![]()

Totally agree... please consider server mergers if the populations don't pick up drastically, and soon. This may not apply to every server, but I feel it applies to Gulgrethor.
Lack of community will kill this game for those of us that have finished the grind and are sitting around waiting for raid content to be released. And TBH, what is the point of the grind OR the raid content, if there is no community on the server. Almost feels like an instanced game sometimes with how empty most areas are. The server economy is really suffering as a result of the low population, as well.

A valid concern (server pop.) but if you want to see any improvement I think you've got some work cut out for you as a community. Why? Because I don't think you're going to see any server consolidations at this point, as that would look like an admission of defeat by Sigil and would be a PR nightmare so early after launch. If you see server consolidations this spring or summer, I have a bad feeling that will be one of the last actions before "flipping off the lights" on the way out the door type of thing.
So the community can do one of two things, as I see it. 1. If you really enjoy the game and believe in it, you can all start trying to encourage other people to sign up and come play. If they like it and stick around, the populations will rise and these problems will decrease. 2. People on the lower pop servers can decide to re-roll on the higher pop servers like Florendyl, etc. and effectively leave the other servers empty. Personally, I bet sigil would rather shut down some servers than do an announced consolidation. Or maybe just leave them idling there with few people on them. Who knows? *shrug*

Being on a low Pop. Server.. it is hard to find a group depending on what area your in. Some areas are loaded and areas like CIS are slowly becoming under populated because everyone has reached that level and beyond. We are not really getting a lot of new folks joining the server which is sort of depressing. Like other people who started off with a large friends list many are gone. I did a quick refresh of the list the other day and deleted 25 out 28 original people I met. Either they re rolled or have left. Interesting fact is none of those where past level 20. This could point to a crappy product on launch day.
I’m not sure a server merger would be good till I rolled an elf as an alt just to see the landscape. I spent the day running around doing newbie quests and didn’t see one other person. Well so much for the group content which I will never see. It’s sad to see a server go down the tubes like this. Would a sever merger fix this problem? Maybe yes maybe no. I’ve thought about rolling on another server but we have a great guild that groups always. If someone lags behind a bit everyone stops and gets them caught up. These kinds of guilds are sometimes hard to find. Small, but strong in heart and spirit. We stick together and help others that can’t finish quests because of lack of people. This is building a community IMO. Take the time to help others. Building a friends list and staying in contact is a huge way to build that community. Done with rant for the day…thanks.
