This encounter is ridiculously easy and working. We did it after the cloak quest got fixed and had 0 problems with a group of 26s after the initial wipe. Do it slow, watch for adds, you're fine. It's really not ahrd at all.

That being said thats its "ridiculously easy" its impossible without a psionist.

I did a small raid with 12 people with no one AE'mezing and we wiped three times. Came back as a group of 6 with one lvl 24 Psi and killed him easily.

Its all about the Psi heh.

With a group of 20's, the tent is impossible without a 22 Psi. Absolutely impossible.

Hailed him, got like 9 adds even after clearing the adds.

I'm level 31 helping a full group of 20's 21's. Couldn't do it. The chain stuns from the high channelers and dps of multiple guardians put me down hard. The rest of the group went down like... well you know.

So... Having a psion to deal with that "Fubared" (no pun intended) aggro level 22 is absolutely needed. Unless you bring 4 groups and just zerg the thing.

The problem with the encounter seems to be that its possible for the Captain to summon more than the intended number of adds, even if you kills adds, dps capt, kill adds, etc. Those that use a Psi to mez the mass adds until Capt is dead or probably not doing the encounter in a way which was intended, though perfectly viable. It just seems that there is a chance for the encounter not to work properly and those without a Psi get overwhelmed due to too many adds spawning. And yea, the encounter would not be difficult without a Psi -if- the adds spawned as intended.

Yep PSI is the only class in this game that is a must for every group and at actual level is even more overpowered than enchanter in eq1.
EQ1 was also having option to use bards but here is get a PSI or nothing.
This is surely the actual worst design flaw of the game.

So you are telling me out of those 12 people NOBODY happend to have any CC to throw at the 2 guard that come initialy and the 2 that come when he goes down X%??

One group without AE mez is difficult, but 2 full groups trivializes the fight even without any Psions to back you up.

If you are not purely refering to a Psion being needed for the Slave Master ( which it is not, just made the fight REALY easy ) would you care to explain how it required?

There isnt a need for a psi on this encounter. Kill him slower next time....

Also if you NEED a psi in groups then you should relook at how everyone in your group is playing. Many classes can fill the roll of crowd controller in the few instances it is "needed".

Yep, our PSi actualy rerolled to a cleric because they couldn't mez more then one mob. I'm not talking about there currently broken ability to ae stun mass mobs. Several classes get CC abilities that when stacked and used properly negate the need for carrying around a Psi. My normal grp Pal,Dsc,Clr,Brd,Sk,Mnk has been thru all the content possible to Pantheon without a PSi. As a whole I don't realy see the "Need" for one unless they give them the ability to actualy mez multiple mobs like in EQ.

We did him and he ended up spawning a total of 10 adds. First batch came right when we hailed him and then 8 more came at 25%. Did 3 calls in a row.


Then when we run back all 8 that were left were still agro to us even after we died and were comming back for our gear.

The encounter is bugged.
