Default MS Vista + VG + TS?

Ok, so needless to say Vanguard Technical support and MS Vista tech support were not able to answer my question. I use Teamspeak and am running MS Vista Home Premium. While I can hear others and they can hear me when Teamspeak is the only window I have open, as soon as I go into the game and 'push to talk' they can't hear me anymore (though I can still hear them). Anybody else had this issue arise? How did you resolve it? Suggesions please.

Also, a guildy pointed out that the button I had been using for 'push to talk' might have been mapped for something in game. So instead of CTRL I'm using ALT. Let me know if there's a better choice given VG's mapping of keys.

Currently running in 32 bit if for some reason there's an out of the blue question about that.

Note that there are other comps in my house that are using Win XP and Teamspeak and are not experiencing any issues.

Thanks,

Jackull

We've been having problems with an keypress hotkeys in TeamSpeak working while in Vanguard. We being a friend and i who are using Teamspeak, VG on Vista Ultimate. We haven't tried push to talk, but we have mute hotkeys that aren't working (I had CTRL+`).

I suggest switching to voice activated and adjust the sensitivity.

Using the 32bit OS was likely the better choice. There isn't a whole lot of support for 64bit OSes just yet, including driver support and there are next to no 64bit apps out there. Combine that with a new OS entirely and it won't be a lot of fun.

I am using Vista 32 bits and Team Speak in Vanguard.

I don't have a 'mute' on my microphone, so I had mapped keys in Team Speak to toggle mute on/off (ex: CTRL+SHIFT or CTRL+~).

It worked at some point during beta, but with the release, Team Speak doesn't get any keys I press.

If I alt-tab back to windows and put the focus on TS, it works, but as soon as I am back in VG, it doesn't.

I am assuming they changed something in VG to trap all key presses.

I really wish they would change it so we could map keys into Team Speak.

Devs?

We don't do anything special to capture keystokes. We just read what Windows gives us.

I just tested it and VG + TS works fine on Windows XP, so it's probably a permissions issue with Vista. Try running Teamspeak in Admin Mode.

Sometimes I have the same problem running games and teamspeak. There's an option in teamspeak to use directdetect or something like that. This option fixes it for me.

TS works fine in vista. You need to right click the launch .exe and select properties and then run as administrator. Click ok and your key to talk button will work fine.

If you have issues with applications that is the first place to look because there is also a compatibility mode for troublesome programs.

Indeed, thanks for the tips, will give it a shot!

EDIT: I've put it "run as administrator" and it now works fine. Thanks for checking Sigil and thanks to the posters for the advice!
